His Doctoral degree was granted from Monash University, Australia with a thesis focusing on preparation for nurses working on ambulances in Indonesia. His interest is mainly in emergency care, especially in prehospital care. His current roles include lecturer, researcher, clinical instructor, and thesis supervisor for both undergraduate and postgraduate majoring in nursing and health sciences.
As an academic, he has experience as a speaker at both national and international events, publishes articles in accredited journals, becomes a journal reviewer for both national and international journals, and also, becomes an adjunct lecturer at the School of Nursing in several institutions.
Several grants had been achieved including from Australia Development Scholarship, Australia Awards Scholarship, Science Council of Asia Scholarship, Indohun, Pan-Asian Resuscitation Outcomes Study (PAROS) grant, Australia-Indonesia Institute grant, and also Paramedic Australasia Travel Grant.
